The Marriage Sermon

This Sunday, we were reminded that marriage is more than a relationship—it is a picture of the Gospel. Christ is the Head of the Church, and the Church is called to submit to His authority, trust His leadership, and respond with wholehearted obedience. Christ loves His Church with a sacrificial, sanctifying, and selfless love, and He has uniquely set the Church apart as His own.

Marriage points us to a greater reality: Christ and His Church. Our marriages are the picture; Christ’s relationship with His Church is the reality. And one day, all the foreshadowing will give way to the fullness of what Christ has promised.
